Through confined eyes...

The ubiquitous cell is tolerated
less for the phone
than for the camera.
The camera is valued
not so much for what it sees
as for what it makes us see
through confined eyes,
a square of shadowed splendor,
shielded from solar glare,
where, astonishedt, we behold
the light shining from within
our ever-turning world.
